-Let's all welcome the lovely Patricia of acollegekidsperspective.weebly.com
as she tells us about herself and her blog..
Hi! I’m Patricia, a 19-year-old blogger and full time journalism student at the University of Arkansas. When I started my college adventure a little over a year ago, I had no idea what I was doing or even what I was expecting to get out of college. All I knew was that this thing called “college” was what 95% of my high school class was going on to do, so I figured I should give it a shot too.
I wondered how was I supposed to be able to pick a major that would define my entire life at 17? I had always enjoyed writing (in fact, in third grade I attempted to write my own sci-fi novel… and gave up about four pages in), but did I want to pursue a career in it? Seeing as I had no other direction (and was mostly just completely indecisive) I enrolled in a freshman level journalism class- and if I’m being honest I had minimal expectations. To my own surprise, I loved it, and have known journalism would be my major ever since.
One of our major assignments for this class (Media and Society) was to start a blog and discuss specific examples of the media’s ability to effect daily life. Thus, acollegekidsperspective.weebly.com was born, and has since changed to me writing about literally whatever is on my mind.
So that’s the inside scoop on my blog’s begining, but what about me? Well, I love makeup, photography, coffee and would venture to call myself a mediocre-music junkie, who lives life in XL tshirts, nike shorts, and scrunchies (and yes, before you ask, I own UGG’s). In other words, I am the embodiment of what society refers to as the “basic white girl”, but I embrace it, because I know there’s more to me than those superficial labels.
What I hope people can learn from my blog is that, although categorized by our love for girly things, comfortable clothes and need for caffeine, “basic white girls” more often than not, have our own opinions and thoughts, and hope to positively impact this world we’re living in too (shocking right?! *sarcasm intended*).
On my blog you will find a wide variety of article’s ranging from me sharing my opinion regarding political issues, to me styling friend’s hair and makeup for a photo-shoot (usually inspired by a song or song lyric). Speaking of songs, you will also find links to my YouTube channel to check out some of my vocal covers, if you’re interested!
In the future I hope to continue blogging and write for an online publication focusing on pop-culture and celebrity news with an emphasis on the music industry, once I finish my degree.
I’m so thankful to Hannah for featuring me on her blog, and giving me the opportunity to share a little bit about myself to all of you!! I hope you’ll pop over to my blog and give it a read!

-Thank you Patricia!!
I live an ordinary life; striving and making it work in the giant sandpit aka Dubai. My life isn't perfect (I wish it was!) But I guess there's something about the imperfection in my journey that makes it worth the write and share. I believe that we don't have to have everything figured out because if we do, a lifetime won't be enough...
