I woke up with a terrible mood today. I felt like I wanted to go back to sleep again just so I could escape all the complications in life. Read my post yesterday to know why and have a clue about what I'm actually talking about. Yesterday was a day like not other. It's like all the enemy's tactics to get you out of everyone's sight is suddenly working and you realize that your world has shattered just because of how sharp the tongue can be.
The tongue is that small part of the body which can cause fire, figuratively speaking. For the suspect, there's no way to redeem someone else's reputation once the words have been said, the damage done. For the victims, however, there's always plenty of choices we can make once we've been hurt and now suffering the consequences of something you/we don't even have a clue about.
As Christians, we have to recognize one thing -- that circumstances like these are merely a trap. A trap that the enemy sends out for us to be ashamed, for us to drown in fear, for us to be injured and never walk anymore. It's not what God wants though, He wants us to continue the race of faith. Continue the race, reach for the goal -- that is to be more and more like Christ. Christ suffered all the accusations of the people, but He kept on going. He stayed still because He knew what He was doing. He knew just what God would have Him do despite the ridicule of the public. I failed at this point because the first thought that came on my mind was to stop. Stop everything. Stop going to church, stop praying, stop trusting that God is good, stop serving, stop meeting people. Maling mali!
Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize. - 1 corinthians 9:24
I don't want to be bitter about everything, and because there are still a lot of people who believe in the notion of "To See is To Believe", we better be aware that not everyone will understand us. Not even everyone would believe that you're /we're the one who's hurt! That's just how the world goes, we can't please everyone because all they'll see is how you've failed at one point. Some wouldn't even apologize! They think 'ah, she's going to be fine, they'll be fine', but the damage has been done, my dear! The only choice we have is to forgive the inexcusable. There's no good excuse for something like gossip, but the only thing we should look back to is that God also forgave the inexcusable in us which alone is enough for us to realize that there should be one thing we're doing.
Forgiveness. Yes, I'm one of those people who'd say that it's not easy, because it ain't really easy, but I came across this quote which says that forgiveness is an act of the will no matter what the temperature of the heart is. It's true, and so we have a choice--to forgive or not. While this doesn't mean that we should pretend everything is okay, it's just a lesson that we should indeed choose the people we communicate with and learn to forgive 70 x 7. First, we just have to realize that this battle isn't against flesh and blood, second, we have to make a choice. We can either drown in anger and bitterness, or we can still get up, let go of the negativity, stand head high and continue running the race of faith.
